So hip it hurts – the urban trend channels androgynous chic, sports luxe and casual cool. It’s also ultra comfortable and easy to achieve. The look doesn’t have to be lazy; put a spin on tracksuit trends with shiny leather, ripped jeans, leggings and wacky prints.
Today’s Fashionista chooses a purple and white pair of Nike trainers. If the student budget allowed, my hi-top choice would be Lanvin’s leopard print creation! From models off duty, to celebs such as Rihanna and Lily Allen, the trainer mini trend is a winner. Everyone is wearing hi-tops.
This week’s trendy Fashionista presents a laid-back, youthful outfit, experimenting with bright colour. She layers a cyan toned tube skirt over black leggings creating a strong contrast. More black appears on her relaxed vest top and hoodie combination, covered by a cropped denim jacket. Superb for spring, take a look at Topshop’s and ASOS’s denim designs. For cheap and sporty pieces that can be incorporated into an urban trend outfit, try H&M sportswear or treat yourself with pieces from Stella McCartney’s collection for Adidas.
Think eighties revival, rainbow brights and sexy sportswear, then jump on the hi-top bandwagon.
