TREND: Petal Perfect

Prints are experiencing a rise in popularity as the spring season advances. Feminine and cheerful, a floral print can give your regular outfit a jovial spin, so indulge your girly side in pretty, floaty dresses. Today’s Fashionista blooms in a striking chiffon dress with large floral print (extra marks for the dress’ on trend asymmetric shape!) With its black background, the multi-coloured print resists looking garish or out of season. Looking for your own statement floral dress to transcend night and day? Try ASOS for a tiered one shoulder mini dress by Lipsy, or get your hands on New Look’s ruched party dress with exposed zip detail.
The S/S collections rarely go by without a pleasing splash of floral. Up and coming designer Hermione de Paula presented delicate, whimsical prints on dreamy designs. Additionally, established fashion houses such as D&G showcased bright and versatile shift dresses with a vintage feel, whilst Chanel integrated modern micro dresses with bold florals into a tweed dominated collection.
This week’s Fashionista styles her fun florals with everyday black leggings, a lightweight, peach cropped cardigan and a practical satchel bag. Her classic mac with fur collar is currently on sale and you’d be mad to miss out on the bargain! The stone coloured fabric frames her floral print perfectly. Last but not least, the flowery Fashionista sports my favourite footwear of the moment – the wedge boot. University appropriate, small wedges provide the lift some of us want and the comfort we all need. Kurt Geiger’s tan coloured boot will complement your spring florals all season long.
